The Particle Society of Minnesota Luncheon Speaker Series:
"Transforming Technology into Reality--the Cost to Agglomerate"

July 16, 2002...11:30am - 1:00am

Dr. Sander holds a Ph.D. in Food Science & Engineering from Iowa State University, and served as associate professor at the University for four years. After ten years as Research Director for General Mills, Inc., Dr. Sander started a new food products company, Zumbro Ingredients Co., with his wife Dr. Pamela Sander. The company was later sold to Primera Foods. Since 2000, Dr. Sander has re-activated a new company, Zumbro River Brand, Inc, which specializes in food processing and equipment refurbishing. He has developed and implemented a college level course on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for training food processing personnel. In this talk, Dr. Sander will address the issue of agglomeration of fine powders and granular materials in and out of the food processing industry.

The talk is open to all Particle Society members. Non-members are also welcome–bring a colleague!

BUILDING AND ROOM CHANGE

The event will begin with lunch at 11:30; Dr. Sander’s talk will run from 12:00 to 1:00 PM. We will now be meeting in Room No. 125 of the Andrew Boss Lab / Meat Science (ABLMS) Building. This building is next to and attached to the Food Science and Nutrition Building . There will be signs posted in the Food Science and Nutrition Building advising of the change as well. You can still enter the Food Science and Nutrition Building or walk to the left and enter the ABLMS Building . As the University will be in summer session, plenty of parking will be available directly in front of the Food Science Building (cost is $3).

The cost of the event is $10. Please register via email by contacting Lisa Welsh at by July 9.
($10 can be paid at the time of the luncheon.)
