The Particle Society Annual Program is a great place to meet other scientists and engineers working in particle related fields. Our membership includes scientists and engineers with diverse technical backgrounds, and represents several of the region’s leading biomedical and biotechnology companies.

FOCUS ON THE BIOMEDICAL/BIOTECH INDUSTRY

The Particle Society of Minnesota will hold its 5th annual symposium on Wednesday, March 9, 2005, from 8:15 A.M. to 3:30 P.M., at the Grand Rios hotel located on the northeast corner of I694 and County 81 in Brooklyn Park, MN. The program this year will feature talks on particle technology related to biomedical and biotechnology applications. Specific topics include:

  • Use of Silicates for Encapsulation and Controlled Release of Volatiles
  • Stealth Nanoparticles: Fooling Biological Defenses
  • Bioaerosols and Ventilation Control in Clinical Environments
  • Preparation, Characterization and Behavior of Microcapsule Powders
  • Application of Nanotechnology to Drug Formulation and Delivery
  • Nano-Silver Particles in Medical X-ray Diagnostic Films

The detailed agenda for the March 9th program is below. We have also invited vendors from around the industry to offer tabletop displays of a variety of products and services related to the field. Registration includes a complete program information packet with a list of attendees and contact information, a formal sit-down lunch, and a continental breakfast.
